The Melbourne Renegades are in good form for the ongoing 2022-23 Big Bash League season. The Melbourne-based side sit second in the table and are unbeaten in their three games so far. In their previous games, Nick Maddinson– The leaders completed their hat-trick of victory with a four-point win over the Brisbane Heat. However, something very strange happened in the Renegades’ opening meeting with the Brisbane Heat, leaving the commentators and players alike baffled.
It happened in the ninth inning for the Renegades when their captain, Maddinson, was on a strike.Maddinson makes a shot maxstickyof the delivery and tried to run the order. But bail fell off the stump and everyone assumed it was a batting wicket incident. However, the story took a strange turn when replays confirmed that Maddinson wasn’t even close to the stump and the bail fell by itself.

The incident baffled everyone, and a third umpire declared Maddinson not out.
Coming into the game, Maddinson struck 87 off 49 balls and took his side to 166/7 in 20 overs. In return, Brisbane Heat were limited to 144/6 thanks to three wickets from Akeal Hossein.
The Melbourne Renegades will now take on the Hobart Hurricanes, while the Brisbane Heat take on the Adelaide Strikers in their next match.
