With an eye on parliamentary votes in Rajasthan next year, Bharatiya Janata Party chief JP Nadda launched the ‘Jan Aakrosh Yatra’ On December 1, the Congress-ruled state pressed Ashok Gehlot’s government on issues related to farmers and governance.
“The People’s Party has suspended Pilgrimage of Jan Akrosh In Rajasthan, as the number of COVID-19 cases increased. For the BJP, the people come before politics. The safety of people, their health is the number one priority for us,” Mr Singh said.

On Thursday, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also expressed concern over the rise in COVID-19 cases globally. He asked states to remain vigilant and raise awareness about wearing masks and using hand sanitizer, especially in light of the upcoming holidays and New Year’s celebrations.
In a statement in the Lok Sabha, Mr Mandaviya said the evolving nature of the virus poses a global health threat, affecting almost every country.
The minister said India reported an average of 153 new cases per day, compared with 587,000 reported cases worldwide every day.
