IPL 2023 auction: How much money is in each team’s wallet?

The upcoming Indian Premier League season will take place in 2023, but a small auction will be held in Cochin on December 23 this year, a few months before the big game starts. The 10 teams will be looking to use their remaining purse money in the best possible way as a total of 405 players will be auctioned off. Notably, the original 991-player roster was trimmed down to 369 and 36 more players were later added at the request of the teams.

Of the 405 players, 273 were Indian and 132 were overseas players, including four from quasi-nationalities. The total number of capped players is 119, uncapped players are 282, and 4 are from quasi-nationalities. Up to 87 slots are now available, of which up to 30 slots are reserved for overseas players.

Earlier this year, with the addition of two new teams – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – the top prize pool for IPL teams was increased to 950 crore per side. After the big auction in 2022, franchises will now compete in smaller auctions.

Before the Kochi mini-auction starts, let’s see the remaining prize money for all 10 IPL teams-

Sunrise Hyderabad – 42.25

Punjab Kings – 32.2

Lucknow Super Giants – 23.35

Mumbai Indians – 20.55

Chennai Super Kings – 20.45

Delhi Capitals – 19.45

Gujarat Titans – 19.25

Royal Challengers Bangalore – 8.75

Kolkata Knight Riders – 7.05
