India’s biggest sporting event isn’t far off the horizon, but the excitement for the Indian Premier League this December will begin with player auctions. The IPL auction is a tense and exciting affair as teams try to bid big for some of the hottest properties in T20 cricket. The 16th IPL will have 991 players registered for the auction to be held in Cochin on December 23, 2022. The auction will see some of the biggest all-rounders in world cricket sold, with teams scrambling to get them into their rosters. Over the past few seasons teams have performed exceptionally well if they have highly valued all-rounders in their squad and this year’s auction features some big names who have consistently excelled on the international and domestic T20 tours players.
Here are the top three all-around players to buy for the team in IPL 2023.
Ben Stokes (base price: INR 2 crore):Considered by many to be one of the greatest all-rounders in modern cricket, Ben Stokes will undoubtedly be one of the biggest buyers at the IPL 2023 auctions. The all-rounder was the most expensive player at the 2018 IPL auction when he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 12.5 credits Stokes is widely known as an expressive cricketer who relies on his instincts to get his team out of trouble. The talented all-rounder has shown impressive performances for the Chennai Super Kings in previous IPLs and has been very effective in both batting and ball. Sam Curran’s growing experience, coupled with his leadership qualities, make him an ideal fit for the IPL team. His ability to clear the fence, even as a low-level hitter, and his bowling accuracy at death make him an ideal option for any team at this year’s auction.
