‘Keep the paddles there…’: Sam Curran’s hilarious performance at IPL 2023 auction

Curran, who was picked by Punjab Kings for an incredible Rs 7.2 crore – the third highest bid in pre-IPL 2019 auctions – added that he was desperate for a good deal.

“First of all, you have to get drafted. Obviously, I wish I could go somewhere. But I guess that’s one of those things, I’m with (Ben) Stokes and one that very few other all-rounders come out with, I guess They come in droves. So, anything can happen,” he added.

Curran was released by Punjab Kings ahead of the 2020 season, but the speed bowling all-rounder, who had a reserve price of Rs 10 million, was eventually sold to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 55 million.
