Security forces smashed a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terror module in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces have arrested five terrorist associates who belong to the Islamic Jihad terrorist group.
According to a Kashmir Police press release, Regional Police Kupwara and the Army have received credible information from Military Intelligence and other intelligence agencies that a terrorist module equipped by Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) is active in the Kralpora area, which not only helps terrorists in the Provides safe accommodation, but also provides other logistics, including weapons and ammunition.
Based on this information, a joint police and army team arrested three terrorist accomplices, Ab Rouf Malik, son of Gh Mohammad Malik and Altaf Ahmad Payer, son of Gh Qadir Payer, both residents of Dardsun Kralpora, Riyaz Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Yousuf Lone’s son Clapola.
During interrogation, the trio revealed two hideouts built for terrorists equipped by HM, which were built on the instructions of Farooq Ahmad Pir @ Nadeem Usmani, a Pakistani terrorist handler in Kakroosa Kupwara, currently stationed at POK, where Some weapons and ammunition were also hidden. Both hideouts were unearthed in the disclosure and identification of the three arrested. 1 AK rifle, 2 AK magazines, 119 AK ammo, 1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 4 pistol rounds, 6 grenades, 1 IED, 2 detonators, 2 wire harnesses and A water tank hideout with a capacity of approximately 100 liters.
The trio also received cash of Rs 6 crore in June 2022 to purchase materials for building the shelter and procuring weapons and ammunition. Rs 64000 out of these 6 lacs has also been recovered. Two other terrorist associates, including Ab Majeed Beigh, the son of Humhama Budgam resident Ghulam Mohammad Beigh, and another Bandipora man who actively supported the trio’s activities, have also been detained for investigation.
Fayaz Geelani, another terrorist handler currently based in Budgam, POK, also dealt with the terrorist associates.
In addition to providing logistical support, weapons and ammunition and other facilities for the implementation of terrorist activities, the arrested gang is also responsible for selecting targets for terrorists in the valley and encouraging more young people to join the ranks of terror.
