A suicide car bombing at a checkpoint in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Friday killed a police officer and injured several others, Pakistani police said.
“Our preliminary information indicates that there is a man and a woman in the vehicle,” Islamabad Operational Police chief Sohail Zafar told reporters, adding that when officers tried to stop the vehicle, it did not Stop at the checkpoint.
“When they were chasing it, the people in the car blew it up.
“It was a suicide bombing,” he said, adding that at least six others were wounded.
