Revelers flocked to Gopalpur beach on Sunday as a giant 27ft sand and tomato Santa Claus installation by renowned sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik rang out amid Christmas cheer in Odisha Take a look at this work of art.
Mr Pattnaik claims his creation is the world’s largest Santa tomato and sand installation, weighing 1.5 tons and 60 feet wide.
The Padma Shri recipient said he completed the sculpture at Gopalpur beach in Ganjam district with the help of 15 students.

“#TomatoSanta world’s largest #SantaClause installation of tomato sand,” he said in a tweet.
Mr Patnaik, 45, later told reporters: “We also set the record earlier, using a different medium at Christmas to create the biggest Santa. This time, we used sand and tomatoes.”
The internationally acclaimed artist has been creating sand sculptures based on various themes for many years.
Earlier this month, after India formally took over the G20 presidency in November, Mr Patnaik made a sign of India’s G20 presidency on the beach.
In 2014, he was awarded the Padmasambhava Medal for his great contribution to the arts.
