Jio True 5G rolls out in some Andhra Pradesh cities, whole state to get 5G by December 2023


Jio has started its True 5G service in Andhra Pradesh with the launch of the service in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijaywada and Guntur. Andhra Pradesh Information and Technology Minister Gudivada Amarnath and Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy launched the Jio True 5G and Jio True 5G Powered wi-fi services at an event here on Monday.

Jio 5G services will be available state-wide by the end of next year, the minister said.

“In addition to their existing Rs 2600 crore investment, Jio has invested more than Rs 6500 crore for the deployment of 5G network in Andhra Pradesh, which shows their great commitment to the development of our country. By December 2023, Jio True 5G service will be available in every town, Taluka, Mandalam and villages in Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy said the new service will open the door to growth opportunities in several sectors including e-government, education and healthcare.

“With the launch of Jio’s true 5G service, Andhra Pradesh not only gets the best telecom network, but it will open the doors to growth opportunities in e-government, education, healthcare, IT and SME business segments,” he said .

“Jio True 5G will also keep citizens and government connected in real-time and will also improve the implementation and efficiency of government programs till the last mile users. Andhra Pradesh government is paying special attention to start-up ecosystem and the emergence of Jio True 5G services will be extremely Earth boosts start-ups working on new technologies such as internet of things, blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analysis. A Jio spokesperson said that the True 5G network will be expanded across the state in a short period of time.

Starting December 26, Jio subscribers in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur will be invited to the Jio Welcome offer through which they can experience unlimited data at speeds up to 1 Gbps+ at no additional cost.

It says more cities in the state will be 5G-ready by January 2023.
