Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain and reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen claimed gold in contrasting victories, while the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) clinched the team trophy with 10 medals at the Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships here on Monday. Assam’s Lovlina beat Serving Sports Control Board (SSCB) Arundhati Choudhary 5-0 in the 75kg final, while Nikhat faced a tough challenge from RSPB’s Anamika in the 50kg, after which the 26 The year-old Telangana boxer will defend the title 4-1 in her favour.

World Championships silver medalist Manju Rani led the RSPB to dominance on the final day as he beat Tamil Nadu’s S Kalaivani 5-0 in the 48kg final. Manisha (57kg) and Saweety (81kg) from Haryana, Sakshi (52kg) from SSCB and Manju Bamboria (66kg) from Madhya Pradesh also claimed gold in their respective categories with a total of 302 boxers in 12 categories participated.
