One of the best white ball hitters in the world, Suryakumar Yadav has made a big name for itself, especially as the shortest race format. With his 360-degree skill, Surya quickly rose to the top of the T20 cricketing ladder.However, Mumbai batsmen also have players like Rohit Sharma and Villacolli Guide him through the different stages of cricket. In an interview, Surya admitted that he was lucky to share a dressing room with the two Indian cricket icons.
In an interview with PTI, Surya was asked about his relationship with Kohli and Rohit. In response, Suryakumar described the pair as “a different kind of international cricketer”.
“I was really lucky to share the dressing room with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They are a different kind of international cricketer. What they have achieved, I don’t know if I can achieve it.
I’ve had some good relationships with Virat bhai recently and I’ve enjoyed hitting balls with him. Rohit is like a brother and a sounding board for me. When I have doubts, I ask him directly about my game. He has been a great guiding force since I joined MI in 2018,” he said.
Suryakumar has been outstanding in T20Is this year. In 31 T20I games this year, he scored 1164 points, averaging 46.56 points per game, 9 50 points in two centuries, and a best score of 117 points. He is the player with the highest T20I running points this year.
But the batsman failed to replicate his T20I success in ODIs. This year, he has managed just 260 runs in 13 ODIs with an average score of 26.00, and he has just half a century in his tally.
