UP private school principal arrested for beating Class 1 students

The principal of a private school here was arrested on Saturday for allegedly harassing and beating a first-year student who refused to pay his deposit.

In addition to the principal, a teacher and school manager have also been charged over the incident, they said.

Outpost chief Ashok Kumar Shukla said police had arrested Satyendra Pal and were working to arrest the other two accused – school manager Pradyuman Verma and teacher Afsana.

According to FIR, on January 27, Ayaz Akhtar, a student of Derry Public School in Rasra Township, 7, was asked to stand with his hands up in the classroom for 4 hours for non-payment of school fees.

The child was also beaten by his teacher with a wooden stick, leaving him unconscious and paralyzed, the child’s family said in a police complaint.

A video of the incident was also circulating on social media.
