AAP is the ruling party in Delhi and Punjab.
Mr Kejriwal addressed the gathering of principals at an event here in the presence of his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann.
Teachers in Punjab do not engage in any other activity than teaching, Mr Mann said.
In his speech, Mr Kejriwal said, “Improving and fixing the education system in Delhi has been very difficult since we took over.” The party’s top leader said infrastructure got an early boost and then the AAP government focused on training teachers and principals .
The impact won’t be seen until teachers and principals are motivated, he said.
“The government can provide the best schools and education if they want to, but intent and priorities matter. Also, education is our number one priority. We spent seven years in Delhi, but less time will be spent in Punjab ,”He said.
“We will make public schools in Delhi and Punjab the best in the world,” Mr Kejriwal said.
The AAP chief said Punjab would also conduct trials and Delhi would learn from it.
Punjabi public school principals who received professional training in Singapore from 6 to 10 February shared their experiences at the event.
The event was attended by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.
Speaking at the event, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is also in charge of education, said that this is perhaps the first time that the chief ministers and education ministers of Punjab and Delhi have discussed such feedback sessions with principals from both sides.
Punjab Chief Minister Mann on February 4 signaled the first batch of 36 state government school principals to attend a professional teacher training seminar in Singapore.
Referring to anyone, Mr Mann said there were leaders who had never taken any exams but made recommendations for them.
