New Delhi:
In a battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP, Delhi’s civic body will meet on Thursday to elect a mayor after three failed attempts.
According to official sources, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena this morning accepted the AAP government’s proposal to hold mayoral elections on February 16.
The AAP claimed that the BJP was trying to seize the Delhi Municipal Corporation by electing the BJP leader to the post of mayor, even though the AAP won far more seats than the BJP in the recent civic body elections.
