Punjab police today arrested Amritpal Singh, a radical preacher and separatist who was at the center of massive protests against the arrest of his top aide last month . His supporters dubbed him “Bhindranwale 2.0”.

Mr Singh leads ‘Waris Punjab De’, a militant organization Started by actor and activist Deep Sidhu, who died in a traffic accident last February.

Mr Singh had earlier worked in his family’s transport business. He was appointed as the head of an organization set up by Deep Sidhu “to protect rights and raise social issues in Punjab”.
