Radical preacher and Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh was dramatically arrested in Punjab today, days after Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met Home Minister Amit Shah. They reportedly discussed the matter at a March 2 meeting, the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Amritpal Singh, who was at the center of mass protests against the arrest of his top aide last month, was arrested by Punjab police in a convoy en route to Jalandhar.a man who roams around with armed guards, known to his supporters as “Bindranvale 2.0”referring to Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

Amritpal Singh heads “Waris Punjab De”, a militant group started by actor and activist Deep Sidhu, who was killed in a car accident last February.
Amritpal Singh has claimed to be a follower of the terrorist Bhindranwale and has given controversial speeches over the past few months. He is married to Kirandeep Kaur, a non-resident Indian living in the UK.
