Former US President Donald Trump made his first post on Facebook on Friday, two years after being banned from the social media platform.
“I’m back,” Trump tweeted in a 12-second video of what appeared to be his victory speech after winning the 2016 election in which he attempted to promote his 2024 campaign.
After the 2016 video, trump card came up with his famous slogan “Make America Great Again,” or MAGA, which became popular during his last successful presidential campaign.
Earlier, in February, Yuan restored Trump’s Facebook and instagram account. Andy Stone, Meta’s director of policy communications, confirmed the development, according to NBC News.
The reversion was expected after Nick Clegg, Facebook’s president of global affairs, said in January that the suspension would be lifted, according to news reports. Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended by Meta after the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.
According to NBC News, the ban was initially announced as an indefinite ban that would cover the last two weeks of his presidency. The ban on Trump’s account was later officially extended for two years.
As of writing this news article, Trump has not shared any new posts on his Facebook or Instagram accounts. His last Instagram post, on Jan. 6, 2021, promoted the Save America March, where he encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol.
Trump shared the post on Instagram, captioning it: “I will be speaking at the SAVE AMERICA rally in the Ellipse tomorrow at 11AM ET (8:30PM BST). Get there early – Doors open at 7:00 AM ET (4:30 PM IST). Big crowd!
Trump’s last Facebook post before his suspension called for people to leave the Capitol. In a Facebook post, Trump said, “I ask everyone in the United States Capitol to be at peace. No violence! Remember, we are the party of Law & Order – respect the law and our great men and women in blue. Thank you !”
