Indian Railways will be running a specially designed tour for people to explore the northeastern states of India aboard the Bharat Gaurav deluxe AC tourist train.
The train journey will start from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on March 21 and the 15-day itinerary will cover Guwahati, Sivasagar, Furkating and Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti, Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura, Nagaland Dimapur and Kohima in Meghalaya and Shillong and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya.
Sabyasachi De, CPRO of NF Railway said, “Bharat Gaurav Luxury AC Tourist Train No. 00412 will depart from Delhi Safdarjung Station on March 21, 2023 at 15:20.”
“Tourists can get on and off at Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur and Lucknow stations. “The luxury AC tourist train will depart from Furkating Railway Station on March 27, 2023 for Tripura, where it will visit the famous Unakoti and Agartala sites including the famous Ujjayanta Palace,” he said.
“The next day, Neermahal Palace in Udaipur and Tripura Sundari mandir will be included in the itinerary. After Tripura, on March 29, 2023, the train will go to Dimapur for Nagaland. From Dimapur Station, tourists will travel to Kohima by bus to visit local attractions. The last stop of the tourist train will be at Guwahati on April 1, 2023. Tourists will travel by road to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, And stop at the majestic Umeim Lake on the way. The next day starts to visit Cherrapunji located in East Kasi Hills. Shillong Peak, Elephant Waterfall, Nawkhalikai Waterfall and Mawsmai Cave are part of the day’s sightseeing. Tourists travel from Cherrapunji Qi returned to Guwahati station to board the return train on April 2, 2023, which reached Delhi’s Safdarjung station on April 4, 2023 at 13:30,” Sabyasachi De said.

“The fully air-conditioned trains offer three types of accommodation namely AC I, AC II and AC III. The trains have enhanced security features such as CCTV cameras, electronic safes and dedicated security guards assigned to each carriage.
