Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Begum, was at home when the police entered the home.
Lahore/New Delhi:
Police entered the Lahore home of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday as he traveled to Islamabad for a court hearing in a corruption case, officials of his political party said.
Mr Khan’s wife, Bushra Begum, was at home when police broke into his house.
“At the same time, the Punjab police launched an attack on my house in Zaman Park, where there was only Bushra Begum. Under what law did they do this? It was part of a London scheme that promised to get the absconder Nawaz Sharif Come to power in exchange for agreeing to an appointment,” Mr Khan tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Punjab police raided my house in Zaman Park, where Bushra Begum was alone. Under what law are they doing this? It was part of a London plan that promised to bring absconder Nawaz Sharif to power in exchange for agreeing to an appointment.

His political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, shared a video on its official Twitter account showing supporters of Mr Khan being detained by police at his home.
Zaman Park is currently the worst torture. If something happened, would you paint it as an accident again! ? #Let’s go with Imranpic.twitter.com/5S45UDVvMZ

Several days of standoffs and violent clashes between his supporters and police followed earlier this week when attempts were made to arrest him for skipping multiple previous hearings.
Security forces fired tear gas and water cannon at hundreds of Mr Khan’s supporters, who cordoned off his home to prevent his arrest.
Imran Khan, who was shot and wounded during a campaign event in November 2022, said in interviews that his life was at greater risk than before.
Mr Khan was ousted last year by a vote of no confidence and has been mired in dozens of legal cases as he campaigns for early elections and a return to office.
The country is facing a deep recession as the political drama unfolds and risks defaulting if it doesn’t get help from the International Monetary Fund.
