Mr Pandey works with the Social Welfare Department of the Uttar Pradesh government.
Alakh Pandey, founder and CEO of EdTech unicorn PhysicsWallah, facilitated the “Samuhik Vivah”, also known as the “mass wedding”, on March 13, 2023 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, his birthplace. He vowed to help 300 couples in the state get married after his own. Mr Pandey worked with the state government’s social welfare department for this.
The ceremony was attended by couples from Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Prayagraj and nearby areas, ANI news agency reported.
Mr Pandey and his wife shared photos of the group wedding on Instagram. They also shared photo collages of their weddings and events. Along with the photo they wrote, “Shaadi ka din sabhi ke liye bhot hi khaas hota h, Apni Shadi ke sath sath 300 Couples ki Shadi me Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah yojna me poora Sahyog kiya (With our wedding we make contributed 300 couples with the help of Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojna.)”

The post has garnered more than 86,000 likes since it was shared on social media. “This picture is love,” one user said.

“I recently met UP CM Yogi Adityanath Ji and it pushed my commitment to UP even more, especially Prayagraj. So, as I embark on this new journey, I want to do something for the people of my hometown. The people’s A happy Prayagraj has been my lifelong dream and I am so happy to see the smiles on their faces. I look forward to doing more for the state in the future,” Mr Pandey told ANI.
Alakh Pandey married journalist Shivani Dubey on February 22. Weddings are private, with only family and close friends in attendance.
